Professional Photo shoot

The barn brought in a professional photographer for a photo shoot. She took incredible pictures of Sophia. We had a tough time narrowing it down.  Here are the ones we picked.

August 2020

August came and went very quickly. Hard to believe the summer is coming to an end. It has been an interesting summer with Covid-19 limiting what we can do and where we can go. Thankfully Sophia can still ride. She competed in two licensed shows in August. She was hoping to get two qualifying scores (63 or better on Training Level 3 test) to participate in the Regional Championship classes at a show in October. She got close, 62.5! She can still ride in the show but in the general classes. I am so proud of all the work she is putting into dressage. It is not an easy sport to master and she never gives up.

Sophia has gotten quite good at braiding the horses mane.

It rained (poured) during one of her classes. She and her horse remained focused even through the pouring rain.

Sophia's coach, Robin, achieved a Silver Medal in dressage this summer. She needed two scores over 60 on 4th level and two scores of 60 or higher on Prix St. George. This is no easy task and she did it. We celebrated with a very small outdoor party at the end of August. Sophia and her friend Kate gave Robin a crown. She wore it the entire cook out.
Other than that I have been walking. Another parent told me about a road close to the barn to walk on. It is more shaded than the long driveway I have been walking up and down. It is a pretty walk too.

Our animals are all fine. Loki LOVES Mr. Twinkletoes. Twinks lets him lick and gently bite him. Otto doesn't have any of this but seems to be warming to Loki. Loki is finally able to be left alone. He is a good puppy. He has bursts of energy but listens well. He is getting so big.

Anywhere there is an empty box there is an Otto.

Sophia was able to ride Navajo when his owner was out of town. She loves this boy.
