February 2023

The weather was getting colder and we were getting a little busier. Steve went away for a weekend to re-enact. Sophia competed with Brisk in an In-house Dressage show. She had amazing rides and won first place in all of her classes including the musical freestyle class. She also had a blast hanging with her friends, despite the cold. I was scribing most of the day. I love watching Sophia shine when she rides.

We also went to McDaniel. We had beautiful weather that day and the campus was wonderful. Sophia liked the feel and this college would put her closer to the barn than we are now!

Sophia got to ride her "heart horse" Nicki during an IEA practice.

The barn hosted their annual Pony Club Banquet. Sophia and Gretchen created "awards" for everyone. These were funny most likely to awards. They were great. Sophia, Gretchen and Jemma took turns announcing them. Sometimes they were laughing so hard it was hard to hear! Sophia's was "most likely to be found sitting in a tack room talking to a fly while crying" which she did last year at champs when her entire team was no where to be found and she was left taking care of everything! I am always amazed at how poised Sophia is speaking to large crowds.

Sophia also sang in her High School Winter Choir concert.

Our animals continue to amuse us. Mr. Twinkletoes really loves Loki. While Loki likes Twinks he is a bit afraid of him. A 75 lb dog afraid of a 12 lb cat!

Til next month!

January 2023

I have fallen behind on these monthly post. I love documenting everything major in our lives, mostly focusing on Sophia. I am hoping that someday Sophia will look back on these posts and remember all the things she has done. I will attempt to get caught up with all the major things that have happened over the last seven months, cause certainly a lot has happened.

The month of January was pretty uneventful. We did celebrate Steve's birthday. I don't have any pictures from his big day but here is one from a breakfast out in early January.

There were no big horse events and not much else has happened. I did finish a baby blanket for Baby Melanie. I completed this one in record time (about 3 weeks)

Of course, I have some pictures of our pets to share.
