I somehow fell behind on these blog posts (again!) It was my intention on keeping this blog active as a bit of a journal documenting Sophia growing up. I am going to attempt to catch up and then try to stay on top of this. I know I enjoy looking back the posts I have made over the years and hope that Sophia may enjoy this too. I do take all the posts and convert them into a PDF so that she will have the option to look back at the 17 years of monthly posts if she ever wanted to.
The month started on the road. We took Wren to Lexington, VA to compete at GAIGS. We followed the trailer that Robin was driving him in. Wren did great traveling except for breaking out of the cross tie at one point. Wren did well in the stall and worked really hard competing. You rode on Friday, First Level Test 3- 60.833, training 3 61.4. Saturday- First Level test 1 64.259 which gives you the score you need to do your musical freestyle at the training level in a recognized show.
You qualified for the DSE regional finals class ages 14-18 on Brisk. You would have done really well on him. But Wren is far from a DSE horse. His trot is way too bouncy. You knew you would not score well. The judge had the class do about 8 of sitting trot in each direction. You were able to brace yourself for a short time but it got to be too much. You scored 65- which isn’t too bad but you placed 13th out of 13th.Your knees were raw, bleeding right through your pants from being bounced around. Needless to say you will stick to dressage tests and musicals with Wren. Which is fine with you, musicals are your favorite.
You sang with the choir in the POPS concert. I like this concert because it shows more of your personalities on stage.
You served as an HM (horse management) judge at the D rally.
The animals had a good month too. Mr. Twinkletoes even got into a costume.
